Through activities under the patronage of the Road Safety Team, the Office of the World Health Organization in the Czech Republic, the Police of the Czech Republic and the Union of Cities and Municipalities, the Czech Republic also joins the global campaign. The campaign will be launched on May 2 with a joint press conference. Representatives of mass media will be informed about the issue of fatal road accidents caused by excessive speeding. During the weekend from May 6 to May 8, traffic policemen and policewomen throughout the whole Czech Republic will focus on monitoring the following of speed limits prescribed by the law. An array of cities and also schools will also be joining the campaign.
